What do you think of the World Cup South Africa 2010 logo?
The World Cup Germany 2006 logo created some controvercy in design circles with experts complaining that it attempts to communicate too many mixed messages. The South African logo for the 2006 tournament was recently unveiled. What do you think about it?

Well, the flag is obviously there, which I think is a good thing, in a patriotic kind of way. And soccer is there too, quite clearly. When you get right down to it, designing a good logo for an event such as this is pretty difficult, since just doing something unique is already a HUGE challenge in and of itself; there are so many soccer events in SA, that everything that CAN be done has probably already BEEN done.
Think it is an average to good logo, but the use of color kind of limits grayscale applications. Also, bit confusing with too much information (just like the Germany logo), specifically in relation to the FIFA logo also being ‘pressed in’ there.
Still, kudo’s to the designer, nice try and reasonably well pulled off.

Why is the South Africa world cup opening game so early?
Ok I live in California which is Pacific timing, and I heard that the opening game between Mexico vs. South Africa will be live at 7:00 in AM. Like are you kidding are people really going to wake up that early for a game? Or will ESPN put the game later on like at noon of that day so people like me can enjoy.
7:00 AM really isn’t even that bad. I remember during the 2002 World Cup all of the games in my zone (central time USA) were around 3 and 4 in the morning. Now THAT was awful.
Who has any information about Cape Town South Africa for the 2010 World Cup?
I wondered if anyone had any information on groups, tickets, hotel accommodation’s and place’s to eat and party for the world cup? I will be trying to purcahse a ticket for the World Cup in South Africa, but have no idea what are the closes hotel’s to the stadium are where to go and what to do. If I could have more information it would be appreciated.
